A.D.D. Blog
Hey all. I had a brunch get together with the ladies from my bible study and they harped me about needing a new blog entry. Well, I feel like not too much is happening. Everyone with kids and newborn babies or babies in their tummies have much more interesting lives...
Anyway, I know that my {best friend} annie garman likes to hear tidbits of normalcy to help us feel closer so lets see...My spice cabinet is a WRECK! I try to get one thing out to cook a recipe and they all fall out! It is so irritating. Jeff says that I over exaggerate everything, like in one of those infomercials where they are trying to sell a special pan to cook pancakes and they show a scene with a woman desperately trying to make pancakes and they are flying out of the pan and her hair is a mess, ect. (it is so obvious that she is trying to make them fall out)Then they show her with the "gadget" and she has make-up on and everything is great:) Well, according to Jeff I am the "before" woman. He does a squeally womans voice and imitates me "they wont stay in!"
That happened today. Hmm..what else;
Jeff and I ran for and hour and a half yesterday in Percy Warner park. It was so great. Annie, I was thinking of you on that run and praying that one day I might take you on that trail. {You would totally want to move to Nashville.}
I am thinking about scrap booking my wedding album. The woman who got on to me about blogging is the very woman who is the scrapbook queen. (second to you annie) You should check out her blog and her favorite blogs..you will be re-inspired!
So our world is really just revolving around school and 509 Morton avenue. Yesterday our friends came over who just had a baby. Jeff and I will have kids sometime, and if you know me at all, I am already thinking about pain tolerance. ek! So, I totally drilled her about the epidural and the NEEDLE! I am so freaked out. {i don't think i can do it!}
Last night we had a dinner party at our house. We were so excited, but a little crazed before hand. It ended up being great. Everyone stayed until 12am! I guess they were having a good time. We made mushroom and cream tar lets for an appetizer, salad with avocado, strawberries, goat cheese and pecans, baked vegetables, and Pork chops on honey polenta with apples and onions. It was great. I also made pineapple upside down cupcakes. Yummie. I made 24 and they were GONE! All in all it was a great night with a lot of good conversation. Oh, I forgot we also had Italian cream sodas. Hmm.
I got this great "cup-cake doctor" book from my friend Audra where you just get a cake mix and add a thing or two and tah-dah..you have a gourmet cup-cake. I also tried the red velvet with chocolate chips with a white chocolate peppermint frosting. Dang! I looked like a total pro, but it was so easy!! Ya'll should really check it out.
509 is really making progress. We finally got the last of the insulation out last night. I hope to never have to deal with that stuff again. I think I have at least one black lung by now.
Jeff and I are really excited about the kenney chesney tour. It is a great opportunity for Jeff and this stinkin' economy is really affecting us. (the money will be nice)
School is going great and I am still loving it. I am planning on taking Chemistry this summer. I am a little nervous about it. I think it might be a bit harder than the classes I am taking now.
Jeff and I haven't given up on the dream of being morning people. We have rare sucess but we won't give up! Today we got up and did our runs before work! Yippie! {the journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step, right?}

Yeah for a new Melissa blog. I must get the cupcake book. I LOVE cupcakes. See you tomorrow!
Melissa,
Great Post! The bit about Jeff and the info-mercial made me laugh out loud in my office. Of course in the info-mercial in my head I saw real life scenes of Annie making the pancakes. Please do not leave us so long without a post again
